He has long been familiar with its cruelty and knows that in the Wasteland, survival usually goes to whoever shoots faster, negotiates better, or recognizes in time when it’s time to make a run for it. And then there’s Maximus, whose story is closely tied to the Brotherhood of Steel. The Brotherhood possesses technology, weapons, and military power, and pursues its very own vision of what the future of this devastated world should look like.

These different paths keep crossing. And that’s exactly where Fallout weaves its story. Because somewhere in the Wasteland lies something that could fundamentally alter the balance of power in this world.

Wilzig’s Head—and a Secret Called Cold Fusion

At the center of the story is Dr. Siggi Wilzig. What initially appears to be just another hunt through the wasteland quickly turns into a battle over a technology that could be of enormous importance to the future of humanity: Cold Fusion. Suddenly, different factions all want the same thing—and in the Wasteland, that rarely bodes well.

In Fallout Flipper, too, the search for Wilzig and the secret of cold fusion becomes a central part of your journey. You’ll work your way through the story, face off against enemies, and try to uncover what lies behind the events. But Fallout wouldn’t be Fallout if the path to that goal were easy.

In the Wasteland, everything is against you

Radscorpions lurk among the ruins. Raiders take whatever they need. Ghouls can emerge from the darkness before you’ve even realized what’s happening. And sometimes you encounter something that even a good weapon isn’t necessarily enough to handle. This is exactly where Stern Pinball transforms the world of Fallout into real pinball gameplay.

Here, the Fat Man becomes a Multi-Axis Ball Launcher that fires the ball across the playfield like a mini-nuke. The V.A.T.S. – Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System –, familiar from the video games, can assist with aiming.

And deep beneath the normal playfield, something else awaits: a separate Vault Lower Playfield. With the so-called Magna-Flip, Stern takes the game down into the world of the Vaults. There, Vault-Tec’s experiments become not just part of the story, but part of the actual pinball experience. And as if that weren’t enough, another inhabitant of the Wasteland awaits you: the Deathclaw. Huge, mutated, and dangerous—and as a three-dimensional interactive “bash toy” right on the playfield, it’s anything but easy to miss.

Fallout Sounds Like Fallout, Too

A pinball game based on Fallout would only be half as good without the music and sounds of that world. That’s why Stern Pinball uses original music and sound effects from Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout: New Vegas. This brings together different generations of the Fallout universe.
