Battery Disposal Guidelines

In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:

Batteries must not be disposed of with household trash.

You can either return used batteries—which we currently carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range—to us at your own expense or return them free of charge to our distribution center (shipping address). Alternatively, you can drop off the batteries at local collection points.

As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.

Used batteries may contain hazardous substances that can harm the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials, such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel, and can be recycled.

The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meanings:

The symbol of the crossed-out trash can means that the battery must not be disposed of with household trash.

For batteries containing a certain mass of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following additions below the symbol of the crossed-out trash can indicate the respective hazardous substances:

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead

Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium

Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury
