The vast majority of all CD jukeboxes ever produced were equipped with Philips CD drive technology. As digital music grew in popularity and manufacturers shifted to new formats, Philips decided to discontinue CD player production in 2014. By that time, Wurlitzer had already built its final “One More Time” jukebox and ceased operations entirely in 2013. This leaves many Wurlitzer CD jukebox owners with a major challenge: how do you repair a jukebox when the CD player can no longer be replaced?
By 2015, Sound Leisure had completed the development of its own CD?player technology and transitioned all CD jukebox production to this new platform. The current version of the CD player (Series 3 Unity S3U) was introduced in 2020 and is used in all modern CD jukebox models.
This Wurlitzer CD replacement kit is compatible with all Wurlitzer “One More Time” jukeboxes. The kit includes the metal carriage and all necessary cables, connectors, and components required to upgrade a Philips CDM3, CDM4, or CDM12 CD player to the latest CD platform. It offers an excellent alternative to purchasing refurbished, modified, or repaired original Philips units that have typically been stored or used for at least a decade.
